Living The Life

Lazeez Tapas Dishes

Last week we were featured on the Islam Channel talking about our authentic Lebanese cuisine here at Lazeez Tapas in Mayfair.

The programme is a contemporary lifestyle magazine style show with special guests exploring a range of interesting topical issues around the Muslim community.

One of the presenters came to visit us and try our range of mezze or tapas dishes which are typical of what you would find in restaurants in Beirut and across Lebanon, as our chef Ali explains.  Lebanese food is most often eaten due to its health benefit as the food tends to be grilled baked or sautéed in olive oil and vegetables are often eaten raw.  And like most Mediterranean countries the food eaten is dictated by the seasons and what is readily available.

Back in the studio, our General Manager, Javier Ramos speaks about the history of Lazeez in London and how it has progressed from a simple coffee shop to the popular landmark Lebanese restaurant it is today just across from Selfridges.  He goes on to talk about the simplicity of the Lebanese food and says that the taste comes from the quality of the ingredients and process of how we cook our food.  Our recipes are traditional and come from the rural areas of Lebanon, giving that authenticity people in London like so much.

Javier goes on to speak about the importance we as a society here in Britain place on what we eat these days and how the Lebanese diet fits in so well with this.
