Over Christmas we delivered 100 meals to the Marylebone Project to help in some small way, the women who access their service, enjoy a decent meal and make the start of the new year just a little bit special, when life can be a rather blue.
The Marylebone Project provides a life-changing service for homeless women and is the largest and longest-running charity of its kind in London and the UK. It has 90 years of experience supporting vulnerable homeless women facing crisis such as domestic violence, mental health issues, human trafficking, and who have no recourse to public funds.
The charity offers hope, providing a safe environment and a place where women can rebuild trust, learn to re-engage with society and, through empowerment, start to re-build their lives again.
The Marylebone Project offers 112 long and short-term beds, which adds up to around 40,000 nights of safe and secure accommodation every year.
‘The Sanctuary’ is open 24/7, 365 days a year for female rough sleepers, which is a crucial round-the-clock lifeline to vulnerable homeless women in London.
Here at Lazeez we have been supporting this vital and life-changing charity since 2020 as their hostel is very close to us here in Duke Street, so we consider them our neighbours.
We will be donating freshly cooked meals each week through January and February as well as during Ramadan.
