Frans Hals: The Male Portrait
The Wallace Collection is currently celebrating Frans Hal’s most famous painting ‘The Laughing Cavalier’ which he painted in 1624. This iconic painting has never before been seen with Hals’ other works and is the centrepiece of the exhibition and will be on display until 30th January 2022.
The Wallace Collection, located in Hertford House in Manchester Square, is an international collection of masterpieces, paintings, sculptures, furniture, arms and armour as well as porcelain.
The collection was built up over the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries by the Marquesses of Herford and Sir Richard Wallace and is recognised as one of the finest collections of its kind.
